Costs

Axiom Trade fees explained

Axiom charges 1% on every spot buy and sell, then pays part of it back as SOL cashback through seven volume tiers, so the net fee ranges from 0.95% for new accounts down to 0.75% at the top. Accounts created through a referral pay 10% less. Perps trades cost 0.01% to Axiom plus Hyperliquid's fees. Solana network costs, including the priority fee and bribe, are separate and go to validators, not to Axiom.

Spot fee and cashback tiers

Axiom's fee page lists seven multiplier tiers. Your multiplier rises with your total trading volume, and each step returns more of the 1% fee as cashback paid in SOL.

TierMultiplierCashbackNet fee
Wood1x0.05%0.95%
Bronze2x0.10%0.90%
Silver2.5x0.125%0.875%
Gold3x0.15%0.85%
Platinum3.5x0.175%0.825%
Diamond4x0.20%0.80%
Champion5x0.25%0.75%

Axiom does not publish the volume thresholds for each tier in its docs, so treat the ladder as a direction rather than a schedule. The fee is charged on the SOL value of each trade, on both the buy and the sell.

The 10% referral discount

Axiom's referral page states that users who sign up through a referral link receive a 10% discount on trading fees. That is 10% of the fee, not 10% of the trade: at the 1% rate, a referred account pays 0.9% before cashback. The discount is attached when the account is created and Axiom documents no way to add it later. Our link uses code THANKS.

Monthly spot volumeFee at 1%Fee with referral discountSaved per year
$2,000$20$18$24
$10,000$100$90$120
$50,000$500$450$600
$200,000$2,000$1,800$2,400

Axiom lists the referral discount and the cashback tiers separately and gives no worked example of the two combined. Referral commissions are calculated on the net fee after discounts, which implies the discount is applied to the fee before cashback, but treat any combined figure as an estimate.

Perps fees

Axiom's perpetuals run on Hyperliquid. The docs state that Axiom takes a 0.01% fee per transaction. You also pay Hyperliquid's own maker and taker fees and the periodic funding payments between longs and shorts. Leverage up to 50x multiplies your exposure, so fees as a share of your margin are much larger than they look. Details are in the perps guide.

Solana network costs

These are paid to the Solana network and block builders, not to Axiom, and they apply to every transaction including failed ones that reach the chain.

CostDefaultWho receives itNotes
Base transaction feeSet by SolanaValidatorsA fraction of a cent; unavoidable
Priority fee0.001 SOLValidatorsRaise it when the network is congested
Bribe (Jito tip)0.001 SOLBlock buildersRaise it for competitive launches; Axiom shows the current minimum
SlippagePer presetNobodyA limit on price movement, not a payment

At the defaults, each trade costs about 0.002 SOL in extras, which adds up for high-frequency traders. Axiom's docs say it calculates a recommended priority fee and bribe from current network conditions, and the settings guide explains when to override them.

Other charges to know about

  • Staking: staking directly to Axiom's validator carries 0% commission. axiSOL, the liquid staking token, charges 5% of earnings plus 0.1% on withdrawal. See staking and yield.
  • Convert: switching between SOL and USDC is a swap, so network fees apply. Axiom lists no separate conversion charge.
  • Withdrawals: Axiom documents no withdrawal fee. Sending tokens out costs the normal Solana transaction fee.
  • Buying crypto: the Coinbase on-ramp, documented at up to $500 a week without KYC, carries Coinbase's own pricing.
  • Price impact: on thin pools, the move your own order causes can dwarf every fee above.

Worked example: one round trip

You buy $1,000 of a token on a Wood-tier account created through a referral, then sell it for $1,000.

ItemBuySell
Axiom fee at 1%$10.00$10.00
Referral discount (10% of fee)−$1.00−$1.00
Wood cashback (0.05% of trade, paid in SOL)−$0.50−$0.50
Priority fee + bribe at defaults (0.002 SOL)about $0.30about $0.30
Approximate cost$8.80$8.80

Figures assume SOL at about $150 and ignore slippage and price impact. The round trip costs roughly $17.60, or 1.76% of the position, before the token moves at all. That is the hurdle every trade has to clear.

How to pay less on Axiom

  1. Create the account through a referral so the 10% discount is attached from day one.
  2. Keep priority fee and bribe at Axiom's recommended values except during congestion or competitive launches.
  3. Use MEV protection on buys so sandwich bots do not take more than the fee ever would.
  4. Avoid rapid flipping of the same token; every round trip pays the fee twice.
  5. Check the cashback tier in your rewards view as your volume grows.

Fees FAQ

What is the trading fee on Axiom?

1% of the trade value on spot buys and sells, reduced by SOL cashback to between 0.95% and 0.75% depending on your tier. Perps cost 0.01% to Axiom plus Hyperliquid fees.

Is Axiom's fee charged on buys and sells?

Yes. The 1% applies to each side, so a complete round trip pays it twice.

Does the referral discount stack with cashback?

Axiom lists them separately. Referral commissions are based on the net fee after discounts, which suggests the discount applies first, but Axiom publishes no combined example.

Does Axiom charge withdrawal fees?

Not according to its docs. You pay the Solana network fee to send funds out, and axiSOL carries a 0.1% withdrawal fee when you unstake.

Who gets the priority fee and bribe?

Solana validators and block builders. Axiom does not keep them. They are paid even when a transaction fails on-chain.

Is Axiom cheaper than Photon?

Both start at 1%. Axiom's cashback tiers and referral discount can take its net rate lower; Photon's docs list a flat 1%. See Axiom vs Photon.
