Limit orders on Axiom Trade

A limit order tells Axiom to buy or sell only when the price reaches the level you set, so you can hold a position to a target or wait for a dip without watching the chart. Axiom lets you place one from the slider in the trading panel or by dragging the price line on the chart itself. This guide covers both methods, how limits behave on fast memecoin pools, and what they cannot do.

What a limit order does

Axiom's docs describe limit orders as a way to "set a precise buy or sell price, ensuring your trade executes only at your desired level" regardless of the current market price. The stated benefits are being able to step away from the screen, hold conviction trades, and remove emotional decisions. A market order executes now at whatever the pool offers; a limit order waits.

How to place one

  1. Open the token and choose Buy or Sell

Limit orders are placed from the same panel as market orders.

  2. Set the price

Either move the slider in the trading menu to the target, or drag the price line directly on the TradingView chart to where you want it. The chart method is quicker when you are thinking in terms of a level you can see.

  3. Set the amount and confirm

For a buy, the SOL you will spend; for a sell, the share of your holding. The order sits open until it fills or you cancel it.

Buy limits versus sell limits

TypeTriggers whenTypical use
Limit buyPrice falls to your levelBuying a pullback after a launch spike instead of chasing
Limit sellPrice rises to your levelTaking profit at a target while you are away

How limits behave on memecoin pools

  • Price can gap through your level. A token that jumps 40% in one block may never trade at your exact price. Axiom's limit executes when the level is reached; it is not a guarantee of that exact fill.
  • Fills still obey slippage and liquidity. A large sell limit on a thin pool fills at the pool's price curve, not at a single number.
  • Network settings still apply. When the order triggers, it is sent with your current priority fee, bribe and MEV mode, so keep those sensible even when you are away.
  • Liquidity can disappear. If a creator pulls the pool, no sell order at any price will fill.

Limit orders versus a stop-loss

A stop-loss sells when the price falls to a level, to cap a loss. A limit sell on Axiom triggers when the price rises to a level. Axiom's spot documentation describes limit orders; take-profit and stop-loss settings are documented for perps positions. For spot positions, the practical equivalent of a stop is a migration sell for bonding-curve tokens, or an alert and a manual exit.

Managing open orders

Open limit orders appear on the token page and in your portfolio's orders view, where you can cancel them. An order that has not filled costs nothing; Axiom's trading fee and the network fees are charged only when it executes.

Limit order FAQ

Can I set a limit order from the chart?

Yes. Axiom's docs describe dragging the price line directly on the chart to place the order at that level.

Do limit orders cost anything while open?

No. Fees apply only when the order executes.

Can I use limit orders on bonding-curve tokens?

You can place them, but bonding-curve prices move step-wise and migration changes the pool entirely. For the migration event itself, use migration actions.

Does Axiom have a stop-loss for spot?

Not as a documented spot order type. TP/SL settings are documented for perps. See perps.
